Although most people are familiar with David Selby through his work on television in such shows as Dark Shadows and Falcon Crest, he has also performed on stage, most recently at the Civic Arts Plaza in Thousand Oaks, California in the musical Mame. David Selby's Final AssaultFinal Assault was presented by the Charleston Stage Company in April 2003. The play was written by David Selby and directed by his son Jamison Selby. Eugene O'Neill's Long Day's Journey into NightIn 1998 and 1999, David Selby appeared as James Tyrone in productions of Long Day's Journey into Night at the Alley Theatre in Houston and Hartford Stage in Connecticut. David Selby's Lincoln and JamesDavid Selby wrote the play Lincoln and James and appeared in the role of Abraham Lincoln in several productions in 1997 and 1998. MiscellaneousIn September 1993, David Selby appeared at the McCarter Theatre in Joyce Carol Oates' The Perfectionist. From February 25 to April 12, 1992, David Selby appeared at the Shakespeare Theatre in Washington, DC in Much Ado About Nothing. David played the role of Benedick. Kelly McGillis, perhaps best known for her roles in the films Top Gun and The Accused, portrayed Beatrice.
