David Selby played Xavier Trout, who was responsible for giving the S.O.F. team their mission assignments. Typically, he appeared at the beginning and end of each episode, although some episodes feature the character throughout. Screen grabs of David as Xavier Trout in S.O.F. are available in the Photo Gallery. Recently, a number of Soldier of Fortune DVDs and videotapes have appeared on eBay. This appears to be a movie version of the series' original episode. Click here to search for it on eBay. The DVD and VHS are also available from Amazon.com During the final episode of S.O.F., which originally aired in March 1999, the credibility of Selby's character came into question, so he was featured a bit more prominently than usual. This episode was also notable because Jamison Selby, David's son, appeared in it. Playing the role of Ramsdale, Jamison Selby enters Trout's office in the first five minutes of the episode, comments that the coffee spilled on his desk is still warm, and picks up the phone to notify whoever is on the other end that Trout has made his escape. David's most recent series was Soldier of Fortune, Inc. The series aired in syndication in 1997-98 and in 1998-99. During the second season, it was retitled S.O.F: Special Ops Force.
